Upon the death of her present husband, Lady Marguerite finds herself alone once again. Henry Thornson was master of Thornson Castle. While he was alive Lord Thornson vowed to serve England's King Stephen and protect the castle. Having been married once before to the handsome Darius, Lady Marguerite swore not to repeat past mistakes and stay true to her new husband & the king.

Darius of Faucon thought that period of his life was over as well. But he soon finds himself connected once again to his childhood friend and former wife, Marguerite. With Henry Thornson's passing, King Stephen orders Darius to protect the castle. Darius discovers that the young girl he was once married to is now a strong young woman, more than capable of taking care of herself and the castle.

While Darius is searching for signs of wrongdoing, he stumbles upon the son he never knew existed. Five-year-old Marcus is the exact replica of his father. Marguerite and Henry had been passing him off as their son but with Darius present, there is no denying the boy's father. Wanting to raise his son properly, Darius convinces Marguerite to marry him yet again, opening a wave of emotions and feelings that never truly died.

Love alone is not enough for this couple. As Darius fights to stop the smuggling of gold and jewels to Scotland, Marguerite spins a web of lies in the hopes of protecting Darius and saving his life. But the deception proves to be too much for Darius, who thinks she has turned traitor against him and their king. While Marguerite comes to realize that she will always love this man, a disgusted and heartbroken Darius leaves - with the intention of knowing his son but severing all ties to Marguerite.

Denise Lynn entertains with this classic tale of good verses evil. With a fortune at stake and deception at hand, this novel leaves the reader routing for Darius, Marguerite and their quest to preserve true love. Darius is portrayed as a strong yet passionate and sensitive man, keeping family and honor top on his list of priorities. Marguerite's character grows as the story progresses, changing from unwavering and hard to loving and sincere. The setting and plot add to the drama and story - and to the hope that justice will prevail.

I found Falcon's Love to be a satisfying read with just enough action and drama to hold the reader's interest. A steady start that slowly turns into an action-packed adventure, the story will surely please Falcon fans.
