Are you an Anne Stuart fan?  ( on: June 18, 2010, 08:20:17 PM)

My daughter loved her 'Ice" series, but I didn't read them, they just did not appeal to me at all.   But....AS has a new series coming out July 1st.

Here is a blurb:  the delicious historical romance trilogy about the decadent Rohan family is almost here transporting readers to a time as dark as it is passionate, when the aristocracy behaved with unthinkable abandon.

I am looking forward to this series.

Ooh, sounds good! The blurbs are intriguing.

From the descriptions alone, those books are nowhere near the Regency fare that is popular today. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy some of those Regencies, but lately I've been craving something richer, darker and more evocative. I hope those new books fit that description.

I've never read Anne Stuart, but I've thought about it. Her Ice series has a couple of Japanese/half-Japanese heroes, so that appeals to me. You don't find too many Asian people as protagonists in books, so it's nice when I find characters who have a similar background. Since historical romance is my genre of choice, I don't come across too many half-Japanese heroes/heroines, lol.

Terri the reason her 'Ice'  series did not appeal to me...they are in the 'mystery romance' genre. Sad   The paranormal  'futuristic'  genre is another genre that I don't care to read.  Those are the two kinds of novels that I avoid.

Oh Helen, I wasn't trying to imply anything, lol. I understand how you feel. I'm not the biggest fan of mystery romances (though I do love a good paranormal/futuristic). No worries.  Hug

Whoa Terri....I KNOW you didn't mean to imply anything.  And I did not know that there was a

Only that my daughter loved AS's 'Ice' series because of course they were in the 'romance mystery' genre.    Roll Eyes  Which.... I state again....I avoid that genre.

Okay, as long as we're good.  Wink

Sometimes things can be misconstrued on forums/blogs (not here usually) so I always try to clarify.

I"m going to have to check out the 'Ice' series.  I really enjoy mysteries and if there's romance and a little spice to go along....all the better.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
