We are moving servers today to our own. I purchased a server and moving away from the hosting company we are currently with.

There will be a brief interruption in service over the weekend. Rest assured we have backed up everything and I have been assured the forum will be the same when we are back.

will this be cheaper to run now, or easier?

i could say i had a hankerin' for some shark fin soup! but i'm not that unkindly disposed toward kittysharks.

no. he took a position as mascot of the historic clipper Cutty Sark. now he's the kittyshark of the cutty sark! lol. mouser extraordinaire!

It will be less problematic to operate and its private. I am not sharing a server anymore. I have better hosting capabilities as well for authors. I won't have to rely on a hosting company to perform upgrades etc, nor worry about being hacked into again (really hurt business wise), or have my domains shut down expectantly (which happened last week) because of incompetence in the billing department.

It's more money in the end, but less of a headache. And that makes it worth it.

re: When the forum disappeared yesterday... lol that was a pure oversight. I had a very hard time getting the domains out of captivity from the company holding them hostage... (they still have one and I'm still fighting to get it).

So yesterday when I finally was able to switch the nameservers... it just slipped our mind to reconfigure the forum and it went poof. I didn't even know, I was told after the fact.
