I'm currently bored so I'm playing farmville, knitting and rereading Claiming the Courtesan by Ann Campell.  Damn good book.

I have so busy with mid-year reports that I haven't had much time to read this past week.  I'm listening to the fourth book in the Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig,The Seduction of the Crimson Rose. Next up is the second book in the wedding quartet series by Nora Roberts, Bed of Roses.

I'm reading "The Truth About Lord Stoneville"  by Sabrina Jeffries

Finished this book early this morning.  Nice read...rather dark in a throw away style.  Think about it 16 year old boy more or less raped by a much older woman for her own purpose of revenge against his mom.  Very dark underpinings...yet Ms. Jeffries manage to keeps it all so airy.  I enjoyed the read.

I've just started this one!  I was hoping it's not going to be a run of the mill blackmail romance again where moneyed relatives tell the youngers ones to shackle up or get out

kind of is and kind of isn't.  The starting point is the good ole get married or I cut you off line however in this family there run some dark undercurrents so the story takes some interesting twist.  And I like the heroine...except when she is being a bit to noble or at times just TSTL.

Yeesh! Sometimes I wonder what goes through some womens minds. It seems so obvious that she should stick with her current boyfriend and forget the loser.

If it were me, the bastard would be history. You wrong me once, there's absolutely no second chance for you.

why do women do that? i'm surprised the nice guy got a chance with her, but now she is two-timing him. Sad my niece-in-law is like that. she was in the hospital going through labor and having their child, and he was at his girlfriend's house having sex. went to prison. yada yada. still had another child with him, and of course, no child support.

i am listening to Georgette Heyer's These Old Shades, after finishing A Civil Contract.

i read Kris Kennedy's The Conqueror, which i liked a lot, and am reading now Tracy Anne Warren's Temped By His Kiss. this last book is very good so far. it starts with a well used plot line, the young lady has been compromised, so they have a fake engagement. so that is the meeh part, but the characters are good, and i am interested in how they work through it.

Can't answer the bit about women Tidee...I am a woman and I just shake my head.  Can't understand why anyone would stay with a guy who disrespects them (and I'm the one who likes the real bad boys in the Rosemary Rogers mode in my romances)!

I'm looking for the Conqueror...it sounds like a great little read.  And since I'm almost done with my upteenth reading of After Innocence by Brenda Joyce...I'm looking for something new.

I like Tracy Anne Warren's books...just not in the mood for one right now.

Witchy if you are anywhere online...please ask Brenda to write for me (it doesn't have to be published) the story of Lisa and Julian.  Those two characters...especially Julian have always needed there story told.  And unless  I missed a book somewhere...I don't think she ever did tell there story.  Always felt like that was unresolved in the book.

Hi Adair, I think you did miss a book. Though it was in an anthology. You can find it in either of these two books:

A Gift Of Joy and Five Golden Rings. I don't think they're in print anymore, but you can probably find it somewhere.

Here's an excerpt:

The Miracle

I haven't read it either, and I need to.  Smiley

I hate anthologies so I never pick them up.  However to read Lisa's story I just may have to do that.  Unless I can find it elsewhere.....
