| way cool avator. Oh and for western's you left one of my favorites out....Elizabeth Lowell. Her western series was outstanding...right up there with Brenda Joyce. I'm sorry, I've never read Elizabeth Lowell before. But if you like her I might give her a try. (I'm very picky about Westerns) What do you think of her other books? I see she has written Medievals.
Lorraine's Westerns are GREAT! The stories are vivid, intense, peppered with endearing characters who make readers glad they're reading her books. Texas Destiny is the first of the series about the 3 Leigh brothers. I noticed there was a gap of 5 years in timeline for each of the novels. In TEXAS DESTINY, Dallas Leigh, the eldest, is on his way to being Cattle King of West Texas, and the only thing he wants is a son, and he needs a bride first for that. There's no women to be had in his land, so he decides on a mail to order bride instead. According to Houston (when Amelia asked), Dallas had a fool grin on this face the whole when Amelia accepted his suit. But then Dallas had to go try and break a horse a day before he was due to leave to meet Amelia's train and makes Houston to fetch her instead. With the scarcity of women these days, there's no danger of Amelia running off with Houston because he's 1. Horribly scarred during the war against the Northern Aggression 2. Trusty. 3. Horribly scarred A woman would hardly run off with a man like that right? Long story short, they fell in love The way you describe it makes them sound great, I can tell you enjoyed them. I shall give her a try too.
Has anyone read Diana Palmer? I really liked Trilby and a couple of her other books but I don't know how I'd feel about them now, I read them so long ago. But I remember being sucked right into her story. I know that the guy was a bit of a jerk, but that might have been what I found appealing.
